Check your eligibility here

If you’re experiencing joint pain & want relief, you could help research.

Thank you for your interest in RDC Clinical’s new study on two experimental natural supplements, previously shown to have beneficial effects such as reducing inflammation and pain. This study is examining the potential effect on reducing joint pain (such as shoulder, hip, knee, ankle, wrist or elbow).

You will receive a health analysis & potentially get pain relief.

You would be required to take your allocated Study Product in capsule form over a 2-week period and come for 2 visits at our clinic in Newstead, Brisbane. You would also need to rate your joint pain twice a day during the study.

During your clinic visits, at both the beginning and end of the study, you will have a blood test and complete health questionnaires.

You will gain information about your own health and lifestyle as a result of the tests, and the possibility you will benefit from your study product… you may or may not be taking the active product, 50% of the study group will be taking a placebo (an inactive substance).

However, if you are found to have been on placebo during the study, you will be offered the active product after your participation has ended.

If you’d like to take part in this study, we’d love your help. More information is below, the eligibility & registration form is on this page.

About the product you’ll help test… an experimental natural supplement for pain
Once enrolled in the study, you will be allocated to either the PEA Study Product group, the Curcumin Study Product group or one of the placebo groups.

PEA is an experimental natural supplement, naturally produced by your body. It has been shown to exert a wide range of beneficial effects such as reducing inflammation, allergic reactions and pain.

Curcumin is a compound found within the spice turmeric, commonly used in Indian cooking. It is known for its anti-inflammatory actions in the body, and for reducing pain.

This study is examining the effects of PEA and Curcumin for specifically reducing joint pain in healthy adults. The products are taken daily in capsule form.

About the study you’ll take part in… pain relief.
The study will involve approximately 160 men & women who are experiencing joint pain (such as shoulder, hip, knee, ankle, wrist or elbow). Each participant will take the Study Product (provided in capsules) for a 2-week period.

Upon enrolment (your first visit to the clinic), you’ll have assessments including a blood test and questionnaires regarding pain and health.

You will then be asked to rate your joint pain morning and night for 3 days by completing a quick online form.

Once we have information on your starting pain, you will be asked to take the Study Product for a period of 2 weeks. During this time, you will also be required to score your pain each morning and night.

After 2 weeks of taking the Study Product, you will be required to attend the clinic again for a final blood test and questionnaires.

The information we collect during the study will enable the investigators to assess the product’s effectiveness on how you felt before taking the Study Product, to how you felt after taking the product for 2 weeks.

If you’re experiencing joint pain, aged 25-70 and would like to help, we’d love to hear from you. Please register your interest by answering the questionnaire and completing the form on this page… we’ll then get in touch to screen you for suitability.
