If you’re experiencing hair loss or thinning, you could help this research.

Thank you for your interest in RDC Clinical’s new research study, into the effectiveness of a herbal extract for hair regrowth. This herb has antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties which may have a positive effect on an enzyme in your body linked to hair loss.

You may experience increased hair growth and density.

In addition to helping advance medical research, you also may experience reduced hair loss and enhanced hair density if taking the active study treatment. So, if hair loss or thinning hair is an issue, this study may appeal to you.

If you would like to play your part in this exciting research, you are in good general health and could attend our clinic in Newstead, Brisbane, for monthly assessments over a 12-week study period, we’d love your help.

About the product you’ll help test… a natural herbal extract.

The product used in this study is currently safely in use for other conditions. It is a herbal extract from a plant with antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. The investigators believe that these properties may have a positive effect on an enzyme linked to hair loss and density.

About the study you’ll take part in…
If you qualify for this study, you’ll be enrolled and attend our clinic in Newstead, Brisbane, for an initial health check which includes lifestyle questionnaires, current medications, weight, height, medical history, a blood test and hair assessments. After this you will be given a test product to use daily, either taking a capsule orally or applying gel to your scalp for 12 weeks.

You will be one of 160 trial participants, with 80 using one of the active treatments and 80 using a placebo (a harmless, inactive substance), so there’s a 50% possibility you will be provided with an active treatment. However, participants who do not receive an active study product during the treatment phase will be offered a 12-week supply of the active product once their participation in the study has been completed.

No cost to you

There is no cost to be a voluntary participant in this study, all study measurements are paid for by the investigators.

You may be eligible to be reimbursed up to $150 to cover your time and out of pocket expenses, including transport to and from study visits. The reimbursement will be made via direct deposit to your nominated bank account once all study requirements have been met.

Study Schedule

Following enrolment and pre-study tests, you’ll be asked to attend our Newstead clinic every 4 weeks for follow-up hair assessments and questionnaires over a 12-week period, with a final interview, repeat questionnaire, hair and blood tests on week 12.

  • Initial Visit: Enrolment and baseline assessments (including a blood test)
  • Week 4: Follow up hair check
  • Week 8: Follow up hair check
  • Week 12: Final assessments (same as Initial Visit)
